Mud House
We offer uniquely designed ‘Mud Houses’ with rooms having antique furnishing. There are very few places in Bengal where traditional mud huts can still be seen. Villagers in Purulia prefer mud houses to concrete buildings that simmer in summer months. We have brought such an essence in our resort. The traditional mud houses here are fine specimens of creativity of the rural folk. The roof, floor, walls are based on ecological wisdom. The exterior as well as the interior walls are plastered with mud.
Organic limix clay paints are used to colour the walls which are matte and pastel-like and do not reflect light. The walls of all the mud houses are like expansive canvases, erisquepainted with geometric patterns and display ‘Alpona’ artwork in typical Adivasi style. The soft lighting adds to the mystic atmosphere of a village night. Although the cottages are made with versatile building material (mud) but you will find all the modern amenities like AC, TV, charging point and all rooms are provided with modern toilet facilities. .
